Your stay includes a private studio, 25mbps dsl wi-fi, courtyard w/ private entrance, kitchenette, bathroom, outdoor soaking tub and shower (turned off during winter months), propane bbq, and seasonal fire pit. Immerse and relax here on property or go out to explore Siskiyou County's vast landscape, and return for a night beneath the star filled sky.
DRIVE TIMES -
Drive times from Memory Seed Family Outpost are 40 mins to Mount Shasta, 20 mins to Weed, 18 mins to Montague, 25 mins to Yreka, and 12 mins to the A-12/Big Springs Rd where guests will find the Mayten/Spirit (gas/diesel/propane station, mini-mart, hardware store).
THE SPACE -
Guests enter the space through a private gate into their own patio/yard setting which features a picnic table , outdoor shower & tub, as well as a juniper tree lawn. A lock box with key for the sliding glass door is provided for the guests convenience. Inside folks will find a small dining table and two chairs along with a sofa (full size pullout sleeper) and Tuft & Needle queen sized bed. All bed linens provided are organic. Two towels are provided for each guest for indoor and outdoor shower/tub use. The kitchenette features a small fridge, granite counter top, deep stainless steel sink with food incinerator as well as the option to compost. In addition there is complimentary organic coffee and herbal tea. An electric hot water kettle, toaster oven, and induction cooker w/appropriate pots and pans is available to cook with. If preferred there is a propane bbq to utilize as well. To the rear of the studio is an antique oak writers desk for creative tasks, wooden rod w/hangers for clothing, door to the toilet/shower room, and A/C & Heater wall mounted uni w/ remote control (a baseboard floor heater is also installed for the cold winter months). A bluetooth speaker is provided to amplify your entertainment experience and there is wi-fi internet too :).
We have been honored to host multiple artists this past year. The mural on the wall in the guest studio was painted by California artist Maggie Eileen Lochtenberg.
Beyond the fenced privacy space, there is a walking path to lead guests onto the east side of our twenty-acre property. Here folks will discover an intentionally placed picnic table, two chairs, juniper tree shade, and a grass meadow with superb majestic views of Mt. Shasta, Sheep Rock, Whaleback, Mt Eddy, Miller Mountain, Rabbit Hill, Herd Peak, Goosenest, and beyond!

Summer can be fire season for most of the Western United States. It is guests' responsibility to monitor air quality conditions and wildfire events in advance and determine feasibility of travel for themselves. We use "airnow" air quality index ratings to judge air quality in our location.
