The property has the feeling of yesteryear with modern touches. Warm and inviting, there is something for everyone. Gather in the kitchen and living room for a home cooked meal or after dinner games. Throughout the year roast marshmallows outside at the enormous bonfire with enough benches for the whole family. In the Fall sip coffee on the front porch while the morning fog rises over the fields and watch the mountain turn golden with the sun. At Calder House every season in Bovina is truly spectacular.
Calder House is located in the historic hamlet of Bovina Center. Bovina Center was founded in 1820 and is on the National Register of Historic Places. A drive through the town will prove that much of its history remains intact. Russell's Store, a 5 minute walk from Calder House, has been the town store for 200 years. Get a cup of coffee, pick up some local produce and find out that days news, just like they did back then. Delaware County is known for being a foodie destination and has plenty of activities to offer like hiking, mountain biking, antiquing and more.
We also offer a lovely guesthouse just a few yards from the main house for an additional cost. Recently fully renovated, it contains two queen beds, Internet, a full bath, and a kitchenette. The guesthouse is decorated by Neil, who is an artist and takes great care to provide an interesting and fun decor for guests. We rent the guesthouse only with the rental of the property.
