Located on a quite tree lined street, our beautiful leaning lady, The Blue Owl has stood proud for over 123 years. She was finished by famed architect, George Stowe, just before the great storm on September 8, 1900. She floated on the storm surge a full four blocks from where she stands and was miraculously moved back to her original location.
Staying in our 1900 hurricane survivor in Galveston, Texas offers a unique and historically rich experience that immerses guests in the resilience of the past. This remarkable house stands as a living testament to the devastating hurricane of 1900, which remains the deadliest natural disaster in U.S. history.
