The space
Enjoy your stay in New Orleans in a fully furnished and newly renovated 2 bedroom/1 bathroom c.1875 shotgun house located in the historic Treme, just one block from the French Quarter. Amenities include queen sized bed in the independent bedroom and a very comfortable full size futon sofa bed in the walk through 2nd bedroom, air/heat, furnished kitchen including fridge/microwave/oven/coffeemaker, apple tv and internet. All the furniture is brand new and the unit is pet and smoke free. Enjoy the front porch swing and authentic New Orleans courtyard.
The bathroom has a clawfoot tub and shower as well as lots of natural light. Hair dryer and toiletries provided.
You are walking distance from the French Quarter and popular areas such as Frenchmen Street, the French Market, The Faubourg Marigny, The Riverwalk, Decatur Street, Bourbon Street, Royal Street, and Armstrong Park to name a few. Just a few blocks away (walking distance), there are 2 museums that you must visit: The Backstreet Cultural Museum and The New Orleans African American Museum.
We recommend uber/cabs/lyft to anywhere that is not in walking distance and late at night as an extra safety precaution. The streetcar is about a 2 minute walk away on Rampart Street is definitely a must on your to-do list during your visit.
The Treme neighborhood is very rich in culture and tradition. It is customary to experience a second line parade, hear the sounds of a brass band in the distance, or musicians practicing on their front porch. Characters of all kinds live in the neighborhood.
