Summary: The historic property was very cool and neatly modernized. The neighborhood/area was quiet, but not easily walkable to restaurants, shops, or attractions, which was fine. We didn't take advantage of the breakfast or even walk around the property, as we were too busy experiencing other parts of Maui. In retrospect, this probably wasn't the most ideal location or accommodation for our vacation. If looking for a quiet and relaxing stay, this is the place. However, we spent a great deal of time driving to attractions, restaurants, and other sites around Maui and then driving back to Wailuku to stay overnight. Other inconveniences: hauling our luggage upstairs to our room, having to check out by 10:00 sharp (aren't most properties 11:00 or 12:00 check-outs?), and being required to strip the bed of linens and put towels in the shower. Rules like that are a hassle when you're on vacation. Overall, the property is clean, well-maintained, and very nice. We loved our room and couldn't have asked for anything more, but it just wasn't the best accommodation for our vacation.
