Welcome to The Charming Little Cottage, a quiet little place nestled right between busy PDX and the beautiful Gorge. A 1,400 sqf space with a spacious outdoor area, perfect for those travelers that wish to relax. The house was built in 1974 on what used to be the family barn, so its got some odd little quirks. Everything except the kitchen has been updated, hence why it looks old. The rooms are comfortable and cozy, high ceiling and large windows with views to the garden make it seem larger than it is. Kitchen opens into dinning and living area, kitchen comes fully stocked with essentials. We only have one full bathroom and currently do not have a washer and dryer inside the house or a dishwaher. There's an amazing patio and garden area, big and spacious with plenty of seating and outdoor bar area.
PLEASE NOTE:
There is a groundskeeper living on the property who can help in case of emergencies, his name is Ruben and he is my dad. He is mainly there to maintain garden and yard areas neat and clean and water the plants as needed. He is very nice and friendly and keeps to himself.
Guests have acces to everything beyond the main house and gazebo area and everything within the house, such as essentials needed for cooking, serving and cleaning. The space is not shared. Very private space. Large parking space, vegetable garden and fruit trees at your disposal during summer months. Great outdoor sitting area with firepit and wood.
Please note that you do need a code to access the house, that code will be provided an hour before check in time, 3 pm on the day your reservation starts, your code will be sent. Also, note that we do have a Ring camera outside the property.
The quirks: The house has its quirks, the bedroom below the loft has a door handle that opens up instead of down. That same room has a light above the vanity and inside the closet only. The water and ice on the refrigerator do not work. The house is rented as is.
If you wish to use the BBQ grill you must bring your own charcoal. We do have firewood for the firepit. Please do not move the firepit.
PLEASE DO NOT MOVE FURNITURE AROUND. Especially in the rooms, as they have hardwood floors that scratch easily. Thank you.
