Mountain-top views set within a gorgeous hardwood forest on 18 acres with no fencing t the next 25 acres. Lumber companies help maintain the one mile hard-packed gravel road from the main highway 15 and the surrounding virgin forest creates utter privacy.
You may want to try white water rafting about 30 minutes away or just stay on site for crosscountry skiing, hiking or summer sightings that include birds, fields of butterflies, bear, deer and fawns, fox, rabbits and squirrels. We roof-watch the wildlife and feast on on-site blueberries in summer, raspberries and apples in the fall and ensure bear and cub sightings nearby.
Only 45 minutes to Snow Shoe or an hour to Elkins for high life, gambling, music festivals, and restaurants. Elkins is a college town with a black powder museum and live music festivals including the Memorial Weekend ESPN log roll, among the many town reunions where anyone is invited (must like Midsummer Murder's village festivals in England).

The cabin (called a ''camp'' in the mountains) was lovingly hand-crafted from 26 kinds of timber by a master carpenter/hippie. They had their first child in the only building a barn at a time when many city dwellers were fleeing suburbs in the 1970s. There is central air, radiant heating if you'd rather, a grill and smoker, a fire pit, satellite television, a washer/dryer/microwave, a new shower-tub, games, and plenty of books for reading during your stay. Wi-Fi has not reached the area but you have a booster for the cell phone and can hotspot and work online comfortably.
