1 Bedroom House in Sheffield

This two-story, rustic yet elegant cottage getaway—located in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom in Sheffield—is situated on a small, private farm with stunning mountain views. It can accommodate two couples and some children (limit of 5 guests total). Upstairs, there are two bedrooms: one has a king-size bed with a plush mattress and an attached bathroom with a shower (no tub), and the other bedroom has a full-size bed with an attached half bathroom, otherwise known as "The Kid's Room." Both bedrooms have cable TV, nightstands, lamps, and a set of drawers. The upstairs great room has a built-in king-size bed with a wonderful memory foam mattress flanking one side of the large picture window. Flanking the other side of the window is a built-in Captain's bed. There is also a breakfast nook in the great room with a coffeemaker, a two-burner stove, a small sink, and a mini-fridge—great for coffee or tea in bed. Linens, towels, soap, and shampoo are provided. In the downstairs open-area Great Room, there is a full-size sofa bed, a plush recliner, an HD television with cable TV, a Blu-ray player, and Netflix + Amazon Prime, a beautifully warm pellet stove (+ supplementary wood stove), and unlimited Wi-Fi. The downstairs fully-equipped kitchen has a five-burner ceramic-topped stove and oven, a refrigerator with a freezer, a microwave, a toaster, a coffeemaker, a blender, food processor, popcorn maker, waffle maker, and wood kitchen island. In the dining area, there is a wood table with six wooden Mexican chairs and a supplementary wood stove. Other amenities include binoculars, many Audubon nature guides, plenty of games (several decks of cards, chess, two scrabble sets, Mahjong, and more), books, CDs, art supplies, and kids' toys.Outside, there is an organic vegetable garden for the guests to use during the growing season. Marc must always be present when guests interact with the farm animals. And to make sure guests & kids do not put fingers through the protective fencing or over the tops. The parking area can accommodate several vehicles. Since I-91 is an easily-accessible five minutes away, it's simple to go out to explore the many beautiful sights, activities, and wonders of Vermont or go to nearby Canada—especially popular Montreal -- Canada is now open to U.S. visitors who have a passport (or special sticker on your driver's license) and have their Covid-19 vaccination certificates. The accommodation comes with unlimited Wi-Fi (10 Mb unlimited data) so that guests can stay connected even in this secluded paradise. There is also heating for cold winter months, satellite HDTV, and a Blu-ray DVD player with Netflix, Amazon Prime and CDs for when glampers want to relax with a movie after a day out exploring. When guests arrive they will find plenty of supplies for making themselves a hearty breakfast with orange juice, bread, butter, jam, eggs, coffees/teas, a pancake/waffle mix/flour, a waffle maker, food processor, blender, Vermont maple syrup, and oats. Upstairs there are children's books and toys, along with games, cards, jigsaw puzzles, and books to read so that the whole family can stay entertained during their stay. The binoculars and Audubon nature guides are great for bird/wildlife enthusiasts. The hosts have a washer and dryer in their farmhouse and will happily do any washing and drying of clothes for guests at no extra charge. An iron and a hairdryer are also available for guests to use at the cottage so they don't have to worry about packing those bulky items. During the summer there is a propane grill, and the fire pit is a favorite for spending time under the stars or roasting marshmallows with the kids. There is ample parking on the premises for several vehicles, so glampers can feel at ease bringing their vehicles (in winter, guests should let the hosts know well in advance if they are bringing a large camper or multiple snowmobile trailer). The organic vegetable garden with herbs and yummy greens and vegetables is for the guests during the growing season. Down the hill is a beautiful state park sanctuary with two nearly private ponds and pristine water--taking a car is recommended as the hiking and swimming gear can wear a glamper out. The first pond has a floating dock and a water slide as well as two beautiful mossy picnic tables so guests can spend hours swimming and lazing there. Artists/photographers and those wanting to spend a quiet/creative day can hike up to the second secluded pond with a 20-minute hike to a locked cabin with a fire pit overlooking the pond where they definitely won't be disturbed for the whole day. This is a nature and animal lover's paradise that has incredible views of the countryside, forests, and mountains. The protected farm animals on the farm include seven sheep, two donkeys, and 8 geese. There are many wild and domesticated flowers on the property changing with the seasons. Whatever season it is, the play of changing light across the mountains and natural landscape of Vermont is often breathtaking—glampers go back with lots of photos and happy memories from their time here.
