Arlington train station was built in 1913 and has not lost an ounce of its original charm. Recently renovated the station boasts two great rooms, one of which includes shuffle board and a large screen TV. Relax in the front great room with friends, a favorite novel or board game. Enjoy your morning coffee and afternoon snack while sitting on the deck surrounded by beautiful mountain views. You may be lucky enough to get a glimpse of the freight train which runs twice daily on weekdays and the occasional weekend day.
As many as 6 guests will enjoy this historical home. There are three bedrooms. All three with queen beds. There is also a queen size aero bed in the game room in case you need more sleeping space. There are two full baths, one of which has a walk-in shower with multiple shower heads. A laundry room and a fully equipped kitchen complete this home. Dining table fit six comfortably and bar four. All linens are provided.
You will absolutely love the abundance of year round outdoor and indoor recreational activities. Nearby go tubing or fly fishing on the Battenkill, kayaking at Lake Shaftsbury, zip lining at Bromley, or jumping into the famous Dorset Marble Quarry. There is also golfing, hiking and biking nearby.
In Autumn the mountains come alive with color, nature's amazing natural act. The colors create a beautiful backdrop for the local covered bridges minutes from the Station. You can also enjoy apple picking or navigating your way through a corn maze.
In the wintertime enjoy snowboarding and skiing at two area mountains (Bromley - 24 minutes/20 miles, and Stratton - 36 minutes/29 miles), ice skating, snow shoeing and cross country skiing at Hildene (historic summer home of Robert Todd Lincoln, son of Abraham and Mary Todd Lincoln).
Our year round attractions include theater, art galleries and historical treasures. Don't miss the award winning Northshire Bookstore (3+ floors, thousands of books and gifts) in Manchester and enjoy fabulous shopping with everything from high end outlets to local gift shops and antique stores. Fine dining at numerous local restaurants including the Arlington Inn and the West Mountain Inn. There are many other options nearby in Manchester, Dorset and Bennington.
