This new home was purchased specifically as a short-term rental to accommodate visitors to Glacier National Park, boating, river rafting, hiking, golfing, and skiing at Whitefish Mountain Resort. No detail has been spared, and the house is fully equipped for long term stays if you choose. Open living spaces, a beautiful kitchen, 3 comfortable bedrooms including a master suite with a king size bed, and covered porch & patio await you. Snuggle by the fire or watch sunrise and sunset every day!
The Lazy Bear is located in a relaxed, country residential neighborhood, on one acre. The home is within 3 minutes of the Teakettle boat launch, and 5 minutes from Kokanee Bend boat launch and fishing access site, both on the main fork of the Flathead River. This section is know for it's easy floating, kayaking, paddle boarding and fishing, as it's considered a tame part of the river with no classified rapids. If you're wanting something more exciting, drive 10-15 minutes and you can drop into a more exciting section.
If you're wanting to hit daredevil whitewater, you're about 30 minutes from the best whitewater in the area. If you're boaters, the huge Hungry Horse Resevoir is about 20-30 minutes east, and it offers miles and miles of beautiful water. Flathead Lake is the largest freshwater lake west of the Mississippi, and it 30 minutes to the south.
With the Lazy Bear only 5-6 minutes to downtown Columbia Falls, you can be sitting down for a meal at the fun restaurants and micro-breweries, and there's a major grocery store, gas stations, medical care and other typical services needed while on vacation.
Head east, and you'll be at the west entrance of Glacier National Park within about 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic. If the excitement of Whitefish entices you, you'll be in its downtown in 15-20minutes, to shop, eat, or boating on Whitefish Lake.
