Historical Dutch Gem In The Hudson Valley
This is a historical brick home built in 1731. Four spacious bedrooms (1 w/ fireplace), two full baths, dining room w/ fireplace and vaulted great room w/ loft. Home is surrounded by woods, fields and a stream on property visible from kitchen. We have intentionally maintained a rustic and low-tech environment to make it the perfect place to unplug and unwind. Many original details such as wide plank floors and hand blown window panes. Updates include a Cooks kitchen with a commercial range, washer/dryer and central AC. Relax in the spacious great room or outside on the lawn while the kids play. Sit around the campfire at night roasting marshmallows and watching fireflies.
There are many beautiful walks, waterfalls and swimming holes in the area. The town of Chatham is a charming village with shops, restaurants and a small movie theatre. 20 minutes away is the town of Hudson; filled with antique shops, NYTimes acclaimed restaurants and the Helsinki music venue. Great Barrington is a 30min drive away which offers many cultural highlights including the mahaiwe theatre, art galleries and fine dining. PS21 artspace and Mac-Hayden theater are under 5 minutes drive and it's just a little further to Tanglewood, The Mount, and several sculpture parks.
